Facebook has finally added the ability to link up Instagram to the Creator Studio. They have added highly requested features such as scheduling, managing posts and tracking for desktop viewing. The desktop feature is available now.
What is Facebook Creator Studio?
It started in late 2017, Facebook launched Creator Studio App to assist creators in managing their page and presence on Facebook.
Then, a year ago in August, Facebook announced it will introduce a dashboard and desktop tool allowing users to track and manage content from multiple pages in one place.
However, Facebook has now discontinued Creator Studio App and only Creator Studio is available on desktop.
How does Instagram come into this?
Facebook announced it’s most recent update will allow users to connect their Instagram accounts in Creator Studio for desktop viewing. Integrating important features such as scheduling and managing posts, measuring and monetizing.
Here are some of the feature highlights:
1. Manage Instagram content
Users can see an overview of all their content that has been published in one place, the content library.
2. Post and schedule
The dashboard allows publishing for both Instagram feed posts and IGTV. You can upload your image as you would normally do, write your caption and add location. One of the highly requested tools is the “schedule” feature. You may schedule your post (not stories) by choosing the date and time.
3. Track insights
In addition, the dashboard includes insights and tracking capabilities. All post and story insights that are available through the mobile app are also available through desktop. Note that Creator Studio only collects insights from the past 7 days and only at an account level.
What does this mean for us?
Users, creators and marketers will benefit from having readily available information on a computer. Which provides convenience when it comes to managing and tracking.
Remember, the dashboard is only available to Business accounts that are linked to a Facebook page.
This is definitely a big deal. It may remove pain points users have in using third-party apps. However, Creator Studio is a very simple scheduling tool with limitations compared to other scheduling tools. Above all, we can hope they introduce more updated features in the future.
